Job Description
We are currently hiring a mid-level Water Resources Engineer to work in our DC metro offices. The ideal candidate will support our transportation project designs by performing various tasks, including but not limited to drainage design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, floodplain/scour modeling, watershed studies, and dam break analysis.
Qualifications
· B.S. in Civil Engineering or a similar field with at least Three (3) years of experience
· Be capable of working on and coordinating simultaneous tasks and have the ability to coordinate technical matters with public and private entities
Responsibilities
· Work alongside an experienced Project Engineer and/or Project Manager to develop and evaluate the design of stormwater management facilities to support municipal and transportation infrastructure projects
· Design and model stormwater conveyance systems and storage facilities
· Develop plans using MicroStation OpenRoads/ AutoCAD Civil 3D while applying knowledge of local, state, and federal design standards
Preferred:
· EIT with the ability to obtain PE
· MicroStation OpenRoads Designer experience
· Knowledge of MDOT, DCDOT, or VDOT and local design guidelines and manuals
· Experience in Drainage, Stormwater Management, and Erosion and Sediment Control designs and calculations
· Experience with bridge hydraulics and floodplain analysis
· Experience with the software programs MicroStation or AutoCAD, TR-20, TR-55, HY-8, HEC RAS
· Knowledge of MDE, DOEE, or VPDES permit requirements
